Things I LOVED

| | Posted On Monday, December 7, 2009

Today, while I am in Horn Lake visiting, I decided to start glancing through my old closet and it is bringing back memories of things I loved growing up. Here are just a few of them so I won't ever forget them and I hope to post more later. Let me know if you remember these things and if you had a love for them to.

  • YM = A magazine I read growing up. See more info about it here.
  • Party of Five= TV Show I loved to watch. See more info about it here.
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer = TV Show. See more info here.
  • Scream 1 & Scream 2 & I Know What You Did Last Summer= Introduced to some of my first scary movies. Love em!
  • Will Smith + Fresh Prince of BelAir = so much fun! More info here.
  • Dawson's Creek = TV Show.
  • Backstreet Boys (don't knock it, you know you liked em).
  • Cover Girl
  • Herbal Essences
  • Volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Singing
  • Hanging out in the parking lot after school
  • Making SONIC runs before Volleyball practice.
  • Felicity= One of my favorite shows. Find more info here.
  • ANYTHING with Leonardo Dicaprio in it. It just so happens that the major one during this time was Titanic.

Oh! Music! Just a quick run down of what was in my Discman:
  • Backstreet Boys
  • Celine Dion
  • Mariah Carey
  • Garth Brooks
  • Amy Grant
  • Usher
  • The occasional rock, rap or pop song that was popular.
  • Christina Aguilera
  • NSYNC
  • Jaci Velasquez and sooo many more.
There are so many more things I can list and will one day, I just wanted to jot this down in a place I won't lose it- and blogging about it seemed the most logical.

Till next time.

Mississippi Tour Continued.

| | Posted On Friday, July 24, 2009

Hey Hey!

This time next week we will be making our way to Mississippi for some GOOD times!
We are thrilled and READY for vacation!

My best friend- Amanda and her fiancee Tucker will be getting married next weekend (August 1st) in Olive Branch. I am thrilled!! Tucker is great, Amanda found a keeper! I am a "Matron of Honor" - first time for this and it feels weird and makes me feel old :) I'm pumped though!

Not only is the wedding going on, but it is also my nephew's 1st birthday!! We get to hang out with the family and celebrate Tate's birthday!

Then, we get to play and sing at FBC Horn Lake, MS. This will be my first time to be back there in probably at least 3 or 4 years. My parent's are excited about this.

Then, we will head down to Starkvegas to see a LOT of friends, but in particular all our friends from church, including Lana and Todd Hamby (and to see her belly since she is due in October) and Amy & Brent Fountain who are due in like 2 weeks! We will be there Sunday night and all day Monday. Tuesday we will head down to Meridian to see Debra & Brad and Eli and he is turning 1 as well! Then on down through Shreveport and then home. We will be missing 4 days of work, but it will be worth it!

Hope to see you all soon!
Love,

Ginny (& Michael)

Finally

| | Posted On Saturday, July 11, 2009

We have received several complaints from people about our lack of updating, so here we go...

We don't have much of a life outside of work, so we don't typically have much to blog about, but we will try to get more creative and update more frequently.

It is HOT in Austin. When I say HOT, I mean "is this what it feels like in hell" HOT. It has been ridiculous the number of days in the past two months that it has been over 100 degrees. The hottest I have seen on my car was 117 one day, but that was after it had been parked on the asphalt all day. But we are surviving by staying inside!!

We had a trip to Jackson, TN back in May to see Michael's little sister Tricia get married. She and John made an adorable couple and it was so wonderful to see all the family from California, Indiana, Illinois, Georgia and.... I think that's all of the states. It was quick weekend trip, but we wish we could have stayed longer! Here are a few pictures:

The happy couple. Their last picture as Tricia Currin & John Martin.

We also celebrated our TWO year wedding anniversary back in May! WOW! It's hard to believe it's been over two years now. We didn't do anything special to celebrate. We figure we will celebrate next year.

We are currently still working a lot and spending time with friends from church and work. We had an adventure at our new apartment a couple of weeks back when our neighbors that live behind us on the bottom floor, caught their kitchen on fire. The fire alarm went off about 9:45 at night on a Thursday and I thought it was just a drill, until Michael and I heard a girl scream FIRE! and start screaming for her kids.

We grabbed important stuff and ran outside. The sprinklers had come on in their apartment and put out the fire (PTL) and the sprinklers never came on in our apartment (PTL)! However, it took the fire department 45 minutes to arrive at the apartment (ridiculous- I know) and so the sprinklers ran for that long. There had to have been at least a foot or more of water standing in their apartment.

What did this mean for our apartment since we butt up to them? We had to move our furniture around midnight that night in our bedroom and our carpet was wet. Around 2:00 am in the morning they had a professional cleaning crew cleaning out the apt next door and pulling up carpet, so they came in and vacuumed all the water out of ours. Needless to say, not much sleep that night. Not to mention, when they cut the AC off to the apt next door, they cut ours off and we didn't have any air for a day. Don't worry, we are keeping an eye out for mold and mildew, but so far we are clear.

And for the neighbors? They moved upstairs and are the loudest people we've ever lived under. :)

But still, we love the city we live in, the apartment we are in, our jobs and our friends.

Have you had any dramatic stories of living in an apartment? If so, feel free to share.

I'll close with a picture of myself and the other girls from our small group (minus Michelle Grafius).
This was at La Madeleine for a baby shower for Amanda Roberts we had a while back. Little David is so cute Amanda! Congratulations!

L to R: Amanda, Gina (Amanda's friend), Me, Carolyn, Kendra & Michelle B.

Love you guys!!

It's Been Way Too Long...

| | Posted On Sunday, March 29, 2009

It's been way too long since our last blog, so I wanted to catch our blogging world up on what has been going on with our life.

1. Twitter

There is this online thing called Twitter that you log on and post updates throughout every day. To really follow what we are doing each day, check out www.twitter.com and register and follow us: @ginnywithag and @macurrin.

2. Love & Respect

We are doing this study with our REALife Group through Hill Country Bible Church. I love it so far. It's an easy read. It talks about how women need LOVE and men need RESPECT. It makes complete and total sense and I'm so thankful we are hearing this now, in the early years of our marriage. Check it out: www.loveandrespect.com

3. New Apartment

We have a new apartment that we will be moving to over the next couple of weeks. We got a great deal and it is a real step up and almost 1300 square feet!! We are thrilled about it but are currently exhausted from the beginning steps of moving. We are hiring movers this time around and are thrilled about it. The money is completely worth it to not have to move all that furniture and find a truck.

More updates coming soon, but just wanted to keep you updated.

Love,

M&G
